Volleyball sweeps Pipers in three, reaches 20 wins

The St. Thomas volleyball team locked up its fourth consecutive 20-win season with Wednesday's 30-28, 30-23, 30-18 victory at Hamline.
It's the 16th time in 20 seasons the Tommies have posted 20 or more victories, and fourth time under four-year head coach Cole Tallman.
The win also was No. 492 in the 25-year history of the program with a chance to reach 500 all-time victories later this month.
The 17th-ranked Tommies, now 20-2, remained atop the MIAC at 6-0 with St. Ben's and Bethel and now have won 10 soncecutive regular-season conference matches since a 2001 mid-season loss to Bethel. The Tommies play at Bethel Friday night (7:30 p.m. in Arden Hills) and host Augsburg Saturday (3 p.m.).
