Volleyball finishes 2-2 at UW-LaCrosse Invite

St. Thomas went 1-1 both days at the UW-LaCrosse Invitational, losing to No. 10-ranked UW-LaCrosse on Friday and falling in three games to fellow MIAC team Carleton Saturday.
The 16th-ranked Tommies (4-2) beat Presentation (S.D.) College 3-0 (30-20, 30-19, 30-14) but lost 3-0 to No. 10-ranked LaCrosse (30-24, 30-24, 30-27) on Friday. After beating Luther 3-1 (30-19, 28-30, 30-21, 30-22), the Tommies closed the tournament Saturday with a 3-0 loss to unranked Carleton (30-21, 30-28, 30-21). St. Thomas, which lost to Carleton in the 2003 MIAC playoffs, will face the Knights in the MIAC regular-season match at home Oct. 13.
The Tommies will face its toughest test of the season next week as they play in the Washington (Mo.) Invite in St. Louis against fellow ranked teams Wash U., Ohio Northern, central and UW-Whitewater.
