Volleyball tops Macalester for ninth win in row

The 15th-ranked St. Thomas volleyball team scored a three-game victory Wednesday night at Macalester. The Tommies ran their season winning streak to nine with a 30-22, 30-28, 30-23 decision.

UST (16-3 overall, 7-0 MIAC) hit .313 and had eight ace serves. Junior Rachelle Dosch hit .375 with 11 kills and 10 digs; senior Erika Wetzel added 10 kills, nine digs and three aces; and senior Ann Eibensteiner hit .375 and had eight kills.

Macalester dropped to 10-9 (3-3 conference.)

St. Thomas plays four matches this weekend in Waverly, Iowa, in the Border Battle tournament. The Toms face Cornell and Wartburg on Friday and Buena Vista and 16th-ranked Central on Saturday.
