Booth stars, Women's Hoops tops Blazers, 66-65

Junior Rachel Booth had 21 points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots and made one of two free throws with :02 left to give visiting St. Thomas a 66-65 win over MIAC co-leader St. Benedict in Saturday's women's basketball play in St. Joseph.

St. Ben's (10-3 overall, 8-2 MIAC) was outscored 6-2 over the last 3:52. The Tommies (9-4, 6-4) improved to 6-1 on the road this season.

Becky Theisen scored 14 points, Jordyn Sears had nine points, Kassie Robinson scored eight and Sarah Smith had seven points and seven rebounds. UST had only 14 turnovers and made 19-of-21 free throws.

The Toms finish the first half of the 22-game conference schedule on Monday night against Hamline in a game set for Macalester's Leonard Center.
