New to the squad this year, Carrie brings a strong, athletic presence on the inside. She is a competitor who knows how to compete at the highest level.
Athletic Career at St. Thomas:
Played the last 4 years for the UST softball team, which won 2 National Championships and was runner up...1st team All-American, CoSIDA Academic 3rd Team All-American, 2x 1st team All-Region, 1x 3rd team All-Region, Division III Baserunner of the Year, 3x MIAC All-Conference 1st team, ESPN Magazine College Division Academic All-American, CSN Female MIAC Senior Student-Athlete of the Year Finalist and Adidas Golden Shoe Award.
Prior to St. Thomas:
Played softball, basketball and ran track and cross-country in high school...in softball was 1st team All-state, 3rd team All-state, 4x 1st team All-conference, 3x All-district, 4x Academic All-conference, 5 year letter winner and was on 2 state championship teams...in basketball was 2x first team All-conference, 2x All-district, 4x Academic All-conference and a 4 year letter winner...in track was a state champion in the 4 x 100, 3rd place at state in sprint medley, 7th place at state in the 200 meter dash, 4x Academic All-conference and 4 year letter winner...in cross country was 3x Academic All-conference and 3 year letter winner...National Honor Society member.
Personal:
Born February 12th, 1985...daughter of Don and Sally Embree.
Get to know Carrie:
The most important thing I have learned at St. Thomas is...a professor told me once, "Keep your mind clear, your eyes open, and allow the world to surprise you today."
My advice to a future Tommie basketball player is...push yourself beyond what you think you are capable of. Keep trying, even if you fail at something, get up and try again. Don’t let someone tell you that you can’t do something, if you really want it bad enough, you will find a way!

St. Thomas is special because...you get the community feel in a big city. There is a large support network from the surrounding area.
