Coach Sinn’s Comments:
As a three year starter, Jessica brings experience, determination and a will to win.
06-07:
Started all 26 games, playing an average of over 30 minutes/game...was the team’s leading scorer 8 games and rebounder 12 games...highs of 20 points vs. Bethel and 12 rebounds vs. STOW.
05-06:
Named to MIAC All-First year team...scored in double figures 15 times with three double-doubles in points/rebounds...highs of 14 rebounds vs. UW-River Falls and 17 points vs. Lasell.
Prior to St. Thomas:
2005 graduate of Dowling Catholic High, where she was honor student and competed in the state basketball tournament and state track meet all four years...in basketball was captain, all-conference, team MVP and made state all-tournament team...in track and field was relay runner who was captain, all-state and all-conference.
Personal:
Born on May 28, 1987...daughter of Sherry Katch of Urbandale and Kelly Katch of Altoona, Iowa...plans on attending pharmacy school after graduating from St. Thomas.
Get to know Jessica:
The most important thing I have learned at St. Thomas is...independence. I have learned how to handle situations and different kinds of people on my own.
My advice to a future Tommie basketball player is...to get on campus as much as possible to get a real feel for how St. Thomas is.
Newspaper headlines will say this about St. Thomas Women's Basketball this year...Tommies sweep the MIAC.
St. Thomas is special because...they have a great balance between big and small. We are located in a great spot and we have so much to offer.
My favorite meal is...pasta.
My favorite late night snack is...Oreos, milk and ice-cream.
My favorite thing about this team is...how well we all get along on and off the court and how much fun we have no matter what it is we are doing.
The first person I talk to after games is...my mom.
