The Tommie women’s cross country team won the team title at Friday's 13-team San Francisco State Invitational at Golden Gate Park, beating several Division I and II teams.

Senior All-American Katie Theisen clocked 21:45 for 6,000 meters to win by seven seconds over SF State's Anna Bretan. Theisen's teammate Kelly Russ placed third in 22:25. Allie Metzler was 11th in 23:02; freshman Emma Spoon was 12th in 23:04; sophomore Alyssa Rassett-Mehl was 24th in 23:43; Raynee DeGrio was 29th in 23:52; freshman Nikki Schminski was 32nd in 24:06; and Helen Shea was 50th in 24:46.

St. Thomas finished with 50 points to top closest pursuers Chico State (63), San Jose State (80), San Francisco (124) and Sacramento State (150).
