Theisen gets MIAC cross country weekly honor

Katie Theisen will look to continue her strong season at \Saturday's U of M Griak Invite
St. Thomas runner Katie Theisen (JR-Elko/New Prague) Monday was named MIAC Women's CC Athlete of the Week.
Theisen ran to first in a field of 243 finishers at last Friday's UW-Eau Claire Invitational. Her 6,000-meter time on the open, windswept course was 23:30, and she beat the runner-up by five seconds.
Theisen has finished first in both of her 2007 races. In nine cross country races in 2006 and 2007, she's placed 38th at D-III nationals and had eight top-eight finishes.
The Tommies will race Saturday in the University of Minnesota Griak Invite in Falcon Heights (9 a.m.).
