Noble, Heck get All-America honors in Women's Golf

Two Tommie women's golfers made the 2008 Duramed Futures Tour NGCA Division III All-American Teams. Laura Heck (SO-Chisholm/Hibbing) was a first-team honoree, Holly Noble (SR-Owatonna) was a second-team pick.

Three Gutavus players also were honored -- senior Rachel Roberg was a first-team honoree; ssophomore Kali Griggs was a second-team selection, and junior Kimbra Kosak was an honorable mention pick.

Heck was named the 2008 MIAC Player of the Year and had the lowest stroke average in the MIAC with a 79.1 in 2007-08. Heck won the MIAC Championship in October by eight shots and also tied for first at the Midwest Classic this spring. She tied for 21st out of 111 players at the NCAA Championships with a four-round total of 316.

Noble was named 2006-07 MIAC Player of the Year and was the medalist of the MIAC Meet in 2007. Noble had a 81.2 stroke average over 22 rounds during the 2007-08 season. She finished tied for 40th at the 2008 NCAA Championships with a four-round total of 324. This is the second All-American honor for Noble.
