Junior All-America goalie Alise Riedel on Monday was named MIAC Athlete of the Week in women’s hockey. Riedel has won the honor in each of the last three seasons.

Riedel stopped 22 shots in Friday’s 3-0 win over St. Mary’s, secured with an empty-net goal in the last minute. She came back with 22 saves in Saturday’s 5-1 victory, to finish with 44 of 45 shot saves on the weekend.

Riedel lowered her season goals-against average to 1.61 and moved her save percentage to .949. In 55 career games her GAA is an impressive 1.54.

The Tommies take a 6-5-1 overall mark and 5-3 conference record into next weekend’s games against St. Olaf.
