No. 6-ranked UW-Stevens Point (11-1-1) won its eighth one-goal decision of the season and second of the weekend on UST's home ice with a 1-0 women's hockey decision over St. Thomas.
The Tommies (5-3-1), who lost 3-2 to UWSP on Friday, outshot the Pointers 35-21 but were unable to get the tying goal in the last 9:00.
Megan Nickelson's unassisted goal at 10:39 of the third period broke a scoreless tie. Taylor Neisen had 20 saves for UST while Janna Beilke-Skoug had 35 saves in Saturday's shutout for the Pointers.
St. Thomas is off until Jan. 5-6 with a trip to the northeast for games in Maine and Boston.
