Women's Hockey gets No. 8 Division III ranking
November 02, 2009St. Thomas is ranked eighth in the first poll of the 2009-2010 women's hockey season by U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO).
The Tommies, 18-5-3 last season, started 2009-2010 with last weekend's split against UW-Stevens Point. The Toms won 3-1 and lost 5-3 to the Pointers (16-6-3 last season).
Coach Tom Palkowski's Tommies are home next weekend to play No. 7-ranked UW_River Falls on Friday (7 p.m.) in Mendota Heights.
MIAC favorite Gustavus is ranked third behind Amherst and Elmira.
