	<title><![CDATA[Alise Riedel repeats as W.Hockey All-America]]></title>

	<description><![CDATA[<p>Tommie&nbsp;junior goalie Alise Riedel has been named a second-team West Region All-America by the American Hockey Coaches' Association. </p>
<p><img alt="Player pic" border="0" vspace="7" align="right" height="165" src="../roster/Riedel_Alise_1213-web.jpg" hspace="7" width="120">Twelve West and&nbsp;12 East players receive All-America distinction among the 50 Division III programs the sponsor women's hockey.</p>
<p>It's a repeat All-America honor for Riedel, a first-team selection in 2011-12.</p>
<p>Three other MIAC players were honored among 12 West All-Americas, including&nbsp;two Gustavus players and one Bethel player.</p>
<p>A Hudson, Wis., native, Riedel&nbsp;finished 13-7-2 this season in the nets with a 1.64 GAA (11th best nationally) and a .942 save percentage (fifth best in nation). She led the Tommies to a second-place&nbsp;conference finish.</p>
<p>In three college seasons, Riedel is&nbsp;35-22-9 with a 1.57 GAA and a&nbsp;.937 save percentage.</p>
<p>This is the fifth Tommie women's hockey All-America honor&nbsp;in the last&nbsp;eight seasons, joining Jackie Carroll (2010), GK&nbsp;Lauren Bradel (2008) and Tanaya Reitz (2006).</p>

	<title><![CDATA[8 in W. Hockey get All-MIAC mention]]></title>

	<description><![CDATA[<p class="MsoNormal">Conference runner-up St. Thomas had eight players recognized on the 2012-13 All-MIAC Women&rsquo;s Hockey awards team.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Junior goalie Alise Riedel, junior defenseman Maria Bothwell, junior forward Chrostina Rzeske and sophomore for Tara Baago were among 21 named to the first team.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Bothwell and Riedel were repeat honorees.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Freshman defenseman Megan Juricko was named to the six-player All-Rookie Team.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Juricko, junior defenseman Kelsey Barnier, senior forward Korinne O&rsquo;Connor and freshman forward Courtney Umland made honorable mention.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Tommies (14-8-2) made the program&rsquo;s 13th consecutive trip to the conference playoffs and secured its 13th consecutive winning season. After a 2-3-0 start in November, St. Thomas went 11-1-1 the rest of the conference season.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Tommie goalies allowed just 43 goals in&nbsp;24 games to rank 10th in the nation (1.79 gpg), including only 26 goals in 18 MIAC games.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Riedel posted a .942 save percentage and a 1.64 goals-against average this season. In 66 career appearances, she has a 1.57 GAA and a .937 save percentage with a 35-22-9 record.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Bothwell had four goals and seven assists this winter. In 76 career games she has eight goals and 19 assists.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Rozeske had a team-best 14 goals to go with three assists this season. In 75 career games she has 21 goals and 17 assists.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Baago had four goals and 10 assists this season. In 44 career games she had five goals and 14 assists.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Barnier had five goals and five assists this season. In 76 career games she has 10 goals and 12 assists.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Tommies were 10-4-2 after Juricko joined the team at the start of January. She had four goals and six assists in those 16 games.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">O&rsquo;Connor, UST's lone senior, played in 101 career games and recorded 26 goals and 40 assists.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Umland played in all 24 games and had seven goals and five assists.</p>

	<title><![CDATA[W. Hockey ends season with 2-1 playoff loss]]></title>

	<description><![CDATA[Kelsey Vandergrift scored the go-ahead goal at 11:46 of period three as the third-seed Cobbers (13-7-5) edged the second-seeded Tommies (14-8-2), 2-1, in Thursday night's MIAC women's hockey playoff game on UST's home ice in Mendota Heights.
&nbsp;
Concordia, which never trailed, outshot St. Thomas 34-24 as it advances to Saturday's finals at No. 2-ranked and top-seed Gustavus. CC's freshman Madison Denny had 23 saves in goal and Lauren Riley scored the game's first goal.
&nbsp;
Alise Riedel had 32 saves and Megan Juricko had a power-play goal for the Tommies.
&nbsp;
It was the final collegiate game for UST's lone senior, Korinne O'Connor, who played in 101 career games over four seasons.

	<title><![CDATA[Big third lifts W. Hockey to win, second place]]></title>

	<description><![CDATA[<p>Alise Riedel stopped 19 of 20 shots on the game and four different Tommies scored goals in Saturday's 4-1 women's hockey victory over Hamline.</p>
<p>The Tommies scored three third-period goals to secure second place in the MIAC&nbsp;and the No. 2 seed for next week's playoffs. UST won its last four conference games by a 13-3 margin.</p>
<p>Christina Rozeske, Karina Marette, Paige Baldwin and Megan Juricko scored goals foe St. Thomas (14-7-2 overall, 13-4-1 MIAC).</p>
<p>The Tommies will play host to a semifinal playoff game next Thursday night against third-seed Concordia-Moorhead.</p>

	<title><![CDATA[Women's Hockey gets 5-1 win over Pipers]]></title>

	<description><![CDATA[<p>The Tommie women's hockey team used goals from five different players in Friday night's&nbsp;5-1 win over Hamline in MIAC play on home ice in Mendota Heights.</p>
<p>St. Thomas (13-7-2 overall, 12-4-1 MIAC) is 10-1-1 in its last 12 MIAC games. The Toms finish the regular season Saturday with a 2 p.m. game on Hamline's home ice in Vadnais Heights. </p>
<p>Alise Riedel has 27 saves for UST, which needs two points to secure the No. 2 seed for the playoffs.</p>
<p>Jess Hunt scored 4:48 into the game for Hamline (5-14-5, 2-12-3).</p>

	<description><![CDATA[<p>St. Thomas and Hamline play two MIAC women's hockey games this weekend to close the regular season. </p>
<p>The Tommies (12-7-2 overall, 11-4-1 MIAC) need three points to clinch a second-place finish and four points to lock up the No. 2 seed for next week's five-team MIAC playoffs. They are 9-1-1 in their last 11 conference games.</p>
<p>Hamline's last 11 losses have each been by one or two goals, and the Pipers allow less than three goals a game.&nbsp;</p>

	<title><![CDATA[W. Hockey gets 2-1 win, still in second place]]></title>

	<description><![CDATA[<p>The host Tommie women's hockey team&nbsp;outshot the Auggies 20-8 in the final 40:00 Saturday afternoon and posted a 2-1 comeback win on home ice for two hard-fought wins on the weekend series. </p>
<p>UST (12-7-2 overall, 11-4-1 MIAC) scored twice 2:19 span early in period two to erase a 1-0 deficit. </p>
<p>St. Thomas, 9-1-1 in its last 11 conference games, remained in second place by one point with two MIAC games to go.</p>
<p>Kelsey Barnier and Christina Rozeske scored goals for the Tommies and Alise Riedel stopped 21 of 22 shots. Rozeske now has nine goals in her last 10 games for a team-best 13.</p>
<p>Brianna Schulz had 25 saves and Erika Berthold scored a first-period goal for the Auggies (6-15-2, 2-12-2).</p>
<p>UST plays Hamline to close the regular season -- Friday night on home ice and Saturday on the road.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Toms won Friday's game to open the series, 2-0, as Morgan Olson and Christina Rozeske scored goals and freshman Taylor Niesen had 25 saves for the shutout in goal.</p>

<p>The teams play again Saturday at 2:05 p.m. in Mendota Heights in a game to be aired live on KSTC TV Channel 45.</p>
<p>Tara Baago assisted on both goals.</p>
<p>Auggie goalie Brianna Schulz had 28 saves.</p>
<p>Concordia's 0-0 tie with St. Mary's let the Toms move back into sole possession of second place in the MIAC race.</p>
