The Tommie women’s soccer team just wrapped up its spring season with a few structured workouts under the direction of Coach Sheila McGill.

“It was refreshing to get the girls back outside after the long winter," McGill said. "We have a very talented group of returning players. We have strong leadership from our upperclassmen and captains --Stephanie Paasch, Courtney Walior and Erin Sprangers, who will set a high standard for our new players. We have two outstanding players returning to us from season-ending injuries this past fall season, and a few new, gifted players we added during our spring season. That will help make us even stronger and more experienced going into the 2008 fall season."

The Tommies are looking to continue their climb toward the top of the conference, hoping to position themselves to be in the four-team MIAC Playoff Tournament with a chance to move on to the NCAA playoffs.

“We have a strong recruiting class coming in," McGill explained. "The new players are tenacious and determined. When you couple that with our returning talent and the team’s resolve to build on last year’s success, it will make for an exciting 2008 season."

The Tommies finished their 2007 season with a 10-7-1 record.
