Women's Soccer stays atop MIAC, wins 3-0

The St. Thomas women's soccer team remained unbeaten on the season with Saturday's 3-0 victory over MIAC contender Concordia in Moorhead. UST had lost five consecutive matches to the Cobbers over the previous four seasons.

Three different players scored goals for the Tommies (8-0-3 overall, 5-0-2 MIAC), who have outscored MIAC opponents by a 13-2 margin. UST is now 6-0-2 on the road

Junior Kirsten Moran scored on a deflection in the 32nd minute, and freshman Allie Emch scored in 41st minute off a pass from Erin Sprangers to make it 2-0. Sophomore Ann Speltz scored her first collegiate goal in the 71st minute to cap the victory.

The Tommies had a 6-4 edge in shots on goal and a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks. Amanda Domeier had four saves in goal for UST.

The Tommies are home to play St. Mary's Tuesday at 4 p.m.
