Sprangers' goal lifts Women's Soccer to 1-0 win

Erin Sprangers scored the game's only goal in the 76th minute to lead St. Thomas to a 1-0 win over host St. Mary's in MIAC women's soccer play Saturday in Winona.

The Tommies (13-4-1 overall, 8-2-1 MIAC) locked up second place in the MIAC standings and secured a home playoff berth Tuesday at 2 p.m. against Macalester.

UST had a 12-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Kirsten Moran fed Sprangers on a cross and the senior converted the winning goal. Amanda Domeier (67 minutes) and Allie Byron (23 minutes) combined on the shutout in net.
