Junior Abie Krause scored her second career goal, in the 83rd minute, to break a 1-1 tie in St. Thomas' 2-1 victory over visiting St. Catherine in women's soccer play Tuesday at UST's South Field.

The Tommies (8-5 overall, 3-4 MIAC) played without three starters but ended a three-game losing streak. They rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit and improved to 6-2 at home this season.

The Wildcats (4-7-2, 0-6-1) have four one-goal losses in MIAC play, three in overtime. CSC's Gina Thorwick scored an unassisted breakaway goal in the 16th minute for their lone shot on goal.

UST tied the score in the 58th minute as Stephanie Paasch scored with a header off a corner kick by Alison True. The Toms controlled the last 45 minutes and got the go-ahead goal with 7:00 left on a cross from Erin Sprangers that Krause settled and kicked into the top of the net.

Freshman Amanda Domeier was in goal all 90 minutes for the Tommies.

UST is home Saturday to face St. Olaf (1 p.m.).
