St. Thomas and Macalester played to a 1-1 tie in two overtimes Tuesday in a rain-marred MIAC women's soccer game on the UST campus.

The tie halted the Tommies' four-game losing streak to the Scots and let UST finish 7-2-1 at home this season. UST plays its last three regular-season games on the road.

The Toms (9-5-1 overall, 4-4-1 MIAC) scored in the 31st minute as freshman Caitlin O'Brien tallied her first collegiate goal (assisted by Abie Krause). The Toms have scored first in 11 of 15 games this season and now have received goals from 14 different players -- an MIAC best.

The Scots (8-5-1, 5-3-1) tied the game in the 79th minute as freshman Lauryn Guitierrez scored her first collegiate goal (assisted by Meghan Garrity).

The Scots had an 11-5 advantage in shots on goal. Tommie freshman Amanda Domeier had 10 saves in goal. UST defenders helped contain Mac junior ace Grace King, who came in with 29 goals in 49 career games.

St. Thomas plays Sunday at No. 8-ranked UW-Eau Claire.
