Layla Clauss had two top-10 individual placings and Becca Ney added three top-13 finishes to lead the Tommie women in the non-team scored UW-River Falls Invitational at the U of M Aquatic Center.
The Minnesota Gophers led a field of Division I, II and III teams that joined in the two-day competition.
Clauss took seventh in the 400 IM (4:55.28) and 10th in the 1650 free (18:51.94). Ney took ninth in the 100 back (1:01.68); 13th in the 200 IM (2:16.63) and 13th in the 100 free (55.05).
Other top-20 finishers were Jena Root, 12th in the 200 back (2:16.37) and 13th in the 100 back (62.54); Elise Andersen, 20th in the 20 fly (2;28.87); and in the 1650 free, JoJo Nemec was 19th (19:53.51) and Monica Beggs was 20th (19:53.70).
In relays, UST placed eighth in the 400 free relay (3:46.51); eighth in the 200 medley (1;55.46); 10th of 36 in the 200 free (1:43.40); 10th of 36 in the 200 free (1:43.40); and 14th in the 400 medley (4:17.78).
