The Tommie women’s tennis team scored a 6-3 win over St. Catherine in Wednesday’s match on the Wildcats’ courts. Alex Frank playing won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and joined Alli Bruflodt to win 8-2 at first doubles.
St. Thomas (11-4 overall, 6-3 MIAC) won all three doubles matches, including two by 8-6 margins. The Toms secured the victory with wins at Nos. 2, 4, 6 singles.
St. Thomas Hadley Syverud retired at No. 5 singles after she reinjured her ankle. Syverud won the first set 6-4 and was up 2-1 in the second set before the injury. Freshman Kathryn Lundquist won a third-set tie-breaker at sixth singles.
The Toms are off until April 19 when they play at St. Cloud State.
