Tommie women’s tennis has two new All-Americas for 2013-14. Junior Kara Lefsrud and sophomore Bridget Noack surprised the field and won the 2013 USTA/ITA Regional Championships Sunday in St. Peter.

The unseeded Lefsrud and Noack had a difficult path as they defeated the Midwest's Nos. 1,  2,  3 and 5 seeds along the way. The Tommie duo topped Carleton's Anne Lombardi-Michaela Beciche in the final, 6-2, 6-3.

The victory secures All-America honors for Lefsrud and Noack and qualifies them to the Oct. 13 ITA national championship in Alabama.

Last spring, the Lefsrud-Noack team received All-MIAC distinction and went 16-4 in doubles play (9-1 in the MIAC). In singles, went 15-2 and Noack went 13-4.
