Women's Tennis falls in MIAC title match

The St. Thomas women's tennis team reached Saturday afternoon's MIAC Tournament finals but lost 5-0 to Gustavus. The Tommies (17-4) advanced to the championship with Saturday morning's 5-2 win over Macalester. The matches were halted when the first team reached five points.

The Tommies will await the NCAA selection announcement to see if they will receive a berth into the national tourney. They have two losses to nationally-ranked Gustavus and two other 5-4 losses.

Hadley Syverud won at singles and doubles to help secure the win over Macalester. Against Gustavis, Syverud also lost 8-4 at third doubles with Madeline Gail.
