St. Thomas had 10 women named to the 2008 United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Academic Track and Field Team.

The 10 honorees are the second most of any Division III institution behind UW-LaCrosse's 14 honorees. In all, 220 women were honored in Division III, including 16 from the MIAC.

The elite team is comprised of student-athletes who qualified for nationals automatically or provisionally and who have a 3.25 or higher cumulative grade-point average.

Honorees from Coach Joe Sweeney's Tommie team are seniors Shara Guidry, Kate Staat and Anne Iddins; juniors Katie Theisen and Shionna Evans; sophomores Nikki Arola, Laura Janas and Erin Sprangers; and freshmen Raynee DeGrio and Melissa Kuebler. Previously, Theisen made CoSIDA Academic All-America and Arola made Academic All-District.

The Tommie women placed seventh at the NCAA indoor meet and for the second year in a row swept the conference team championships in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track.
