Women's Track gets two NCAA provo marks in Iowa

Kelly Russ and Megan Honan hit NCAA provisional marks in the weight throw to lead the Tommie women at Saturday's Wartburg Select Invitational in Waverly, Iowa.

Russ won the mile in 4:58.76 and Honan won the weight throw in 51-9 1-4.

A third Tommie winner was Alyssa Rassett-Mehl in the 3,000 in 10:50.28.

Senior Nikki Arola was second in the 200 (26.30), fourth in the 400 (59.22); and fifth in the 55 dash (7.59).

Larissa Peyton (3:05.76) and Raynee DeGrio (3:06.11) took second and third in the 1000.

Thirds were also scored by the 4x200 relay in 1:48.90; Angela McGehee in the pole vault (9-6 1-4); and Traci Pastoors in the triple jump (33-10 3-4).

Fourths were scored by Taylor Berg in the mile (5:16.88); Gina Michaels in the 600 (1:53.65); Cathy Reeves in the 800 (2:21.83); Laura Janas in the 55 hurdles (8.95); Julianna Gorder in the long jump (16-6 1-2); Nicole Flackey in the shot put (38-3 1-2); and the 4x400 relay in 4:02.26.

Fifths were scored by Molly Demmer in the 400 (60.46); Pastoors (16-1 1-2); and Sarah Lemke in the shot put (37-8).

Sixths were scored by Allie Metzler in the mile (5:21.59); Sarah Lemke in the weight throw (44-1 11-4); and Alexandra Johnson in the 3,000 (11:34.10).

Sevenths were scored by Jenna Ewing in the 55 dash (7.65) and 200 dash (27.78); Flackey in the weight throw (42-7 1-2); and Hayley Schnell in the long jump (14-10 1-2).

In Friday's Carleton Invite, Erin Sprangers won the 800 meters in 2:19.33.
