Ylonen leads Tommie women's track in 2003 opener

St. Thomas' Jill Ylonen won the developmental heat of the 200 meters (27.76) and placed in two other events at Saturday's Northwest Open indoor track and field meet at the University of Minnesota.
Ylonen was second in the long jump (15-11.5) and was sixth in the 60-meter dash (8.34). The Tommies also placed second of three teams in the distance medley relay (13:14.75).
Chelsea Guettinger placed fourth in the 3,000 (11:33.33); Erin Ranta was fourth in the long jump (15-2); Theresa Meath was sixth in the long jump (13-7 3-4); Molly Bauman was sixth in the 60-meter hurdles (10.07); Mary McKee was ninth in the 60 hurdles (11.68 prelim time); Crystal Baloun was eighth in the shot put (37-1 3-4); Christie Thames was 10th in the high jump (4-9) and 14th in the pole vault (9-0).
