Women's Track second at UWEC Invite

The St. Thomas women's indoor track and field team competed Friday at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invite. Eau Claire won the meet with 193.50 points to UST's 115.50.

St. Thomas won eight of 18 events, led by Crystal Baloun sweeping the shot put (11.70m) and weight throw (13.04m) and Heidi Vogel in the 55 (7.47) and 200 (26.90) dashes.

Tersa Smock won the 800 (2:23.78); Mollie Hupp won the 400 (60.73); Tish Dusich won the 1,500 (4:56.89); and UST won the 4x400 relay (4:10.00).

Jill Ylonen was second in the 55 (7.64) and long jump (4.80m); Duisch was second in the 800 (2:25.48);Brigid Power was second in the 1,500 (4;58.95); Nicole Gurgel was second in the 5,000 (19:13.08); Kristal Grigsby was second in the high jump (5-0); and UST was a close second in the 4x200 relay.

Thirds were scored by Mary McKee in the 400 (63.34); Molly Bauman in the 55 hurdles (9.17); and Vogel in the long jump (4.73m);
