Long jumpers lead Women's Track at Eau Claire

National champ Kristal Grigsby (18-5 1-4) and All-American Andretta Colley (18-1) hit the NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the long jump and placed second and fifth in that event at Saturday's UW-Eau Claire Invitational. Those jumps rank fifth and 12th in Division III thus far this season

UW-La Crosse won the team race with 140 points followed by UW-Eau Claire (125.5), UW-Stevens Point (112.5), Winona State (94), St. Thomas (64.5), Minnesota-Duluth (63.5), St. Benedict (53.5), St. Mary's (46), UW-Superior (30) and St. Scholastica (12).

Erika Wetzel won the javelin (121-0), just six inches off the NCAA provisional in that event. The Toms got seconds from their 4x100 relay (49.25) and Selina Dehn in the triple jump (34-11 3-4). Thirds were scored by Beth Magnuson in the steeplechase (12:29.46) and Molly Bauman in the 400 hurdles (66.41). Jada Lewis and Dehn placed fifth and sixth in the high jump (both 4-11 3-4). Sevenths were scored by Ronni Hamilton in the 1,500 (4:58.30); Colley in the triple jump (33-2); and Rochelle Dosch in the javelin (102-5). Eighths were scored by Colley in the 100 meters (12.97 in prelims) and Christina Chapman in the 400 (59.29). Mary McKee placed ninth in the 800 (2:27.74).
