Grigsby, Colley lead Women's Track at UST Invite

St. Thomas junior Kristal Grigsby had a hand in four NCAA provisional or automatic qualifying marks at Saturday's UST Invite.

Grigsby, who's already ranked first nationally in the long jump, took second in the high jump in 5-7 1-4, good for fifth best in Division III. She also went 39-1 to win the triple jump and post the third best leap in D-III this season. She also ran on the 4x100 relay, which clocked 47.92 for the eighth-best time in D-III, and ran on the winning 4x400 relay team which had the 11th-best time in D-III in 3:55.06.

Senior Andretta Colley jumped 19-0 1-2 to win the long jump. That's an NCAA automatic qualifying mark and ranks second in the nation this season.

Brigid Power won the 800 meters in 2:14.81. Jenny Olin was second in the 1,500 meters in 5:03.36. Molly Bauman ran on the winning 4x400 relay, clocked 26.38 in the 200 meters, and hit 15.41 in the 100 hurdles. Erika Wetzel was second in the javelin in 126-4.

St. Thomas will compete in the MIAC Championships next Friday and Saturday at Macalaester.
