Women's Track gets nine top-three places

The St. Thomas women's indoor track and field team had three firsts, two seconds and four thirds Friday at the St. Olaf Invitational. The non-team scored meet was UST's last competition before next week's MIAC Championships at Carleton.

The Toms won the 4x200 relay in a fieldhouse record 1:45.23. UST also took second and hit an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 4x400 relay in a season-best 3:59.92.

Kristal Grigsby won the 200 meters (26.24), took second in the triple jump (36-7 1-2) and tied for fifth in the high jump (5-1).

In the 3,000, Chelsea Guettinger placed first (10:41.35) and Anne Iddins placed eighth (11:00.43). Selina Dehn was third in the high jump as she matched her season best at 5-3, and took fifth in the triple jump (35-4 1-2). In the 1000, Kalsey Larson took third (3:05.30) and Ronni Hamilton placed seventh (3:12.33). Katie Theisen took third in the triple jump (36-3). Nicki Hanson took sixth in the 800 (2:27.29). Carol Comp took sixth in the shot put (38-1 1-2).
