Kristin Stoneberg enters her ninth year as Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of St. Thomas. Stoneberg, along with the entire UST Athletic Training Staff, provides medical services for UST athletes via Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO) and its partnership with the university.  Kristin works specifically with volleyball, men’s basketball, and men’s and women’s track and field, providing all care and prevention of athletic injuries for each sport.

Stoneberg began her tenure with Twin Cities Orthopedics in 2009 and has partnered with UST ever since.  As a member of the staff at TCO, Kristin works as a physician extender at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Edina clinic two mornings each week along with her responsibilities at St. Thomas.

Prior to her time at TCO, Stoneberg served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and Assistant Volleyball Coach at Saint Mary’s University in Winona, Minn.  As a member of the Athletic Training Staff, Kristin provided medical care to all Cardinal athletes.  A college volleyball player herself, Kristin also helped the Saint Mary’s volleyball team improve its win total each year.

After missing the MIAC Playoffs for the first time in six years with a 7-18 record prior to her arrival during the 2005 season, Stoneberg played a key role in helping the Cardinals to a 10-19 record in 2006 and a 17-12 mark in 2007.  Kristin also laid the groundwork for future success, as Saint Mary’s went on to make the MIAC Playoffs three straight times following her departure.

A 2004 graduate of Bethel College, now Bethel University, in Arden Hills, Minn., Kristin was a standout on the Royal volleyball team during her four years.  Stoneberg finished her career as an All-MIAC selection during her senior season, which saw her lead the league in digs (678) and finish fourth on the team in kills (200).  Following her graduation with a degree in athletic training in the spring of 2004, Kristin began her career in athletic training as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Northern Iowa from 2004 to 2006.

A native of Marshall, Minn., Stoneberg now resides in Richfield, Minn.
