Baseball redraws schedule; six games this weekend

MIAC baseball coaches voted to move games to three sites this weekend starting Friday. Schedules were redrawn for the remaining three weeks of the regular season.

St. Thomas (6-8 overall, 1-1 MIAC) will travel to Moorhead along with St. Olaf and Augsburg, and those four teams will play each other in three doubleheaders (two seven-inning games). There will be live stats for all games:

UST will play again Wednesday April 25 in a 2:30 p.m. doubleheader at home vs. Hamline -- its 2018 home openers -- and that would let it reach the halfway point of the 20-game conference schedule.

Due to wet fields, snow and cold this month, Chris Olean's Tommies have played just two games over the last 21 days. St. Thomas split against St. Mary's on April 10 in Mauston, Wis.

But the entire conference is in the same situation for baseball. Only five of the MIAC's 55 league baseball games have been played and just three weeks remain until the six-team conference playoffs start.
