Junior Nathan Sprouls earned his first college pitching victory with four strong innings of middle relief and Tommie Baseball slapped 14 hits in Wednesday's 11-1 win over Colby in Auburndale, Fla.

Coach Chris Olean's team (8-3) closed out a 5-2 record on the spring-break trip.

St. Thomas' Sam Cobbs went 4-for-4 and Avery Lehman went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Chandler Schaefbauer, Kyle Halverson and Adam Krajewski each had two hits. Dan Bollingberg scored three times and had three steals.

Nate Rivers started and allowed three hits and two walks over three scoreless innings. Sprouls came on with a 3-0 lead through three innings and allowed one single and no walks with no earned runs and six strikeouts over the next four innings.

Weather permitting, the Tommies are scheduled to open MIAC play Saturday with two games at Bethel.
