Title: Assistant Coach - JV, Catchers

Nate Hammes enters his seventh season at St. Thomas in 2018-19. A graduate of Tartan High School in Oakdale, Hammes was an all-conference player in 2005. He did not commit an error in the field during his senior campaign.

After high school, Nate went on to play college baseball at Concordia-St. Paul for two years before transferring to St. Cloud State. He went on to be a two-time all-conference player for the Huskies; named a captain his senior season; and led the team to a second-place finish in the Central Regional, compiling a 44-17 record. Nate was a career .350 hitter for the Huskies and is in SCSU's top 10 in most major hitting categories as well as games started.

Nate also played for the Brainerd Lunkers of the Northwood’s League in 2009, where he was named team captain. In 2010 and 2011, Nate later played for the St. Paul Saints of the American Association and was a part of the Saints' 2011 championship team.

Prior to joining the UST staff, Nate was an asistant in 2011-12 assistant coaching position at St. Cloud State, where he worked with catchers and hitters. 

Nate currently resides in Lake Elmo.
