St. Thomas football coach Glenn Caruso will be a presenting speaker at the NFL's Super Bowl Experience next Sunday afternoon. The event is being held at the Minneapolis Convention Center, and the coach will talk in Sunday's 4-5 p.m. session, hosted by St. Paul native and former NFL pro bowler Matt Birk.
Super Bowl 52 will be played Sunday Feb. 4 at US Bank Stadium. The NFL Experience starts Friday and runs through Feb. 2. Tickets are $35 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under. Tickets come with a designated entry time and date. There are also some small-group ticket packages available.
Caruso just completed his 10th season as the Tommies' head coach with a 110-17 record. He's guided the Tommies to six MIAC championships in the last eight seasons and has won multiple National Coach of the Year honors from the American Football Coaches Association, Liberty Mutual and American Football Monthly.
The 2017 Tommies finished No. 4 in both national Division III polls, the seventh time in nine years that UST teams finished ranked in the top seven nationally. Last fall's St. Thomas team ranked first or second in five defensive categories among all 660 NCAA football teams at all levels.
