Austin Lorch completed his four-year St. Thomas football career last fall. The Andover, Minn., native contributed to one of college's football's top defenses last fall. He had an interception, two pass break-ups, and 1.5 tackles for loss amoing his 15 total tackles for the 11-2 Tommies, who were ranked in the top 10 nationally throughout the 2017 season.
That's just one way that Lorch is making an impact on campus.
A Mechanical Engineering major, Lorch and two fellow St. Thomas Engineering students are part of a new university commerical that's appeared on Twin Cities TV stations. With Professor Tom Secord, the three students are involved in undergraduate research to develop a human heart's means to power a pacemaker.
