The 2019 season will be the fourth for Brian Rose coaching the Toms’ defensive line. He also is the team's video coordinator.

Prior to joining the Tommies, Rose coached at Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.), where he earned a Master’s degree in 2015. His Dakota Wesleyan defensive line ranked in the top 10 nationally for both sacks and tackles for loss, and in his era the Tigers posted one of the best seasons in program history.

After graduating from Springville High, Rose enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and was activated in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he served in a leadership role as a Squad Leader for 2/24 Echo Company.

A Springville, Iowa, native, Rose played college football at Iowa Central Community College for two seasons. He later graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in May 2012. Rose later taught and coached football at River Valley High, which reached the state playoffs two years in a row.

At Springville High, Rose earned academic all-conference, was named an All-District offensive lineman, and was voted the team’s Defensive MVP.
