Tommie alumnus Josh Rodenbiker returns for his fifth season on the St. Thomas coaching staff in 2019-20 after assisting the Minnesota Lynx with their video operations for a portion of their championship 2015 season.
He has taken on adiditonal duties as head JV coach and the program's recruiting coordinator
A 2015 St. Thomas graduate who majored in Psychology, Rodenbiker played two seasons for the Tommie junior-varsity men’s basketball team, helping lead the club to excellent records. He served as a team captain his sophomore year. During his final two years at St. Thomas, he worked with the varsity team as a student assistant coach, aiding in all facets of the program.
A two-sport standout athlete for Fargo Shanley High, participating in basketball and football, Rodenbiker was awarded all-state honors four times in all. He captained the basketball team for three seasons and played a key role for the football team as it won back-to-back state championships.
Rodenbiker said, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to coach at the University of St. Thomas. The Tommies are one of a select number of college basketball programs in the country that have achieved sustained excellence, and I look forward to contributing to the program’s continued success.”
Tauer said, “Josh is a bright young coach is highly motivated and passionate about the game of basketball and developing young people. Josh will have a hand in every facet of our program, from recruiting to skill development to offensive strategy to scouting and game preparation. We are delighted to have Josh on staff.”
