Live scoring

Sophomore Emmet Herb capped off a strong weekend of golf with a second-place individual showing and lead the No. 4-ranked Tommies to a team victory at the two-day, 36-hole St. John's tournament.

Just seven shots separated the first four teams after Sunday. UST had a steady round as Herb shot 71 and Pete Sienko had the tournament's low round of 70. Herb finished one stroke out of the medalist honor at 74-71/145. Sienko (76-70/146) tied for third, two shots behind the winner.

Herb also finished first in Friday's St. John's vs. St. Thomas dual meet. His 68 was the low scorer among 22 players.

Three other Toms had top-18 finishes on the Sunday-Monday tourney: Riley Gannon (72-80/152), Matt Mellin (74-78/152) and Owen Nowicki (75-78/153).

The Tommies shot 297-298/595 and topped St. John's by four; beat UW-Eau Claire by five; and topped Gustavus by 14.

The Toms will play in the 36-hole Gustavus Bobby Krieg tourney next weekend, their final tuneup before the May NCAA Championships.
