St. Thomas used a partial squad Saturday in New Prague at the 18-hole Gustavus Bobby Krig Invite. Sophomore Emmet Herb stayed hot as he shot two-under 69 and tied for second individually among 43 players. Herb leads all MIAC players with a 72.7 stroke average over 19 rounds this season.

Peder Larson tied for seventh at 72, and Matt Tuman tied for 16th at 75. 

St. Thomas took fourth out of seven with just one varsity player competing.

The Tommies hold their annual Alumni Fundraiser tournament Monday as they await the May 15-18 NCAA Championships.

St. Thomas sophomore Emmet Herb shot 70 to claim medalist honors at Friday's Gustie Spring Invite in Le Seuer.

The Toms took second place out of five schools at 298 behind Gustavus' winning score of 291. Owen Nowicki (75), Pete Sienko (76) and Shane Sienko (77) were the other UST scorers.

Jack Ritchay (72) and Matt Mellin (75) led the Toms' second unit.

St. Thomas -- ranked No. 1 nationally in GolfStat and now No. 3 in the latest Division III coaches' poll -- competes Saturday in the Gustavus Bobby Krig Invite in New Prague.
