MIAC, national golf awards for Proshek, Herb

MIAC news release

The St. Thomas team is still competing at nationals, but awards season is in full force in men's golf.

Scott Proshek has been voted MIAC Coach of the Year for the third time in his eight seasons. Proshek is also among five on the national ballot for Division III Coach of the Year. His Tommies swept team titles last October at the MIAC Championships and the elite GolfWeek tournament. They have been ranked No. 1 in the GolfStat computer rankings and No. 3 in the Division III coaches' poll.

Sophomore Emmet Herb was named conference Player of the Year after closing with the MIAC low scoring average for 2017-18.

Herb and Pete Sienko also made the All-Region Team, and joined Owen Nowicki and Shane Sienko on the 16-player All-MIAC team.
