St. Thomas Men's Golf's top team shot 306 on Monday and closed in fourth place at the 17-team Twin Cities Classic tournament.

Saturday's round was at Elk River Country Club; Sunday's round was played at the Links at Northfork; and Monday's action concluded the tournament at the Edina Country Club.

St. John's (902) placed first by 13 strokes. The University of Manitoba (915), UW-Eau Claire (918), St. Thomas (921), Augsburg (923) and St. Cloud State (925) took second through sixth place.

UST's Peder Larson tied for the second best score on Monday in a field of 98 players as he shot one-over 73. Larson tied for 35th place at 235.

Tommie junior Emmet Herb shot 79 on Monday and closed at 227 to share 12th place.

Matt Mellin shot 80 and tied for 20th place at 231. Jack Ritchay shot 76 and tied for 24th at 233. Derek Ferrell shot 76 and closed in a tied for 37th at 236. Sawyer Bailey shot 78 and closed at 238 to share 44th place.

St. Thomas Men's Golf's top team shot 305 and sits in fifth place after day two of the 17-team Twin Cities Classic tournament. Saturday's round was at Elk River Country Club while's Sunday's round was played at the Links at Northfork. Monday's action concludes the tournament with play at the Edina Country Club.

St. John's (294-295) and UW-Eau Claire (298-301) have a big lead on an eight-team pack after two rounds. The Toms are three shots behind third-place Manitoba.

UST junior Emmet Herb shot 75 on Sunday and is tied for seventh in a field of 98 players at 148. Matt Mellin (77-74/151) is tied for 16th. Jack Ritchay had a 79 and is tied for 37th at 157.

Three Toms moved up the leader boards with good scores on Sunday: Miles McCarthy carded a 72, Ben Kisla a 74, and Sawyer Bailey a 75.
