Tommie Men's Hockey standout Brett Gravelle on Monday was named MIAC Athlete of the Week in his sport. It's his second career MIAC Athlete of the Week honor.
Gravelle had a five-point (four-goal) weekend plus a game-ending 3x3 shootout score to lead the No. 15-ranked Tommies to a five-point weekend in their series with St. Mary's, including a pair of late comebacks.
He scored a goal in Friday's 3-3 tie and assisted on the tying score with 46 seconds left in regulation time. The junior added the 3x3 shootout-session goal to end the contest and secure an extra point for UST.
On Saturday, Gravelle's first collegiate hat track included two goals in the final 3:08. His second goal of the night tied the game at 3-3, and his empty-net score iced the 5-3 victory.
Gravelle has 27 goals and 33 assists in 56 career games.
St. Thomas remained unbeaten at 3-0-1. The Tommies play two non-conference road games next weekend.
