Goalie Burggrabe gets MIAC weekly honor

Freshman goalie Cam Burggrabe on Monday was named MIAC Athlete of the Week in men's hockey.

The Marquette, Mich., native recorded his first college shutout Saturday as he stopped all 22 shots in the Tommies' 3-0 win over Nichols (Mass.). That victory snapped a three-game UST losing skid and avenged a St. Thomas loss to Nichols in January 2018.

Burggrabe improved to 2-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage.

The freshman played 52 games over three seasons of Juniors hockey with one shutout and a 24-20 record.

The Tommies (4-3-1) play No. 11-ranked Augsburg in two conference tests this weekend.
