Close call, Men's Hockey secures sweep

Brett Gravelle recorded a goal and an assist and Andrew Rohkohl stopped 34 shots and scored his first career assist Saturday in the Tommies' 2-1 road win at St. Olaf in MIAC men's hockey action in Northfield.

St. Thomas (13-4-4 overall, 7-1-4 MIAC) ran its unbeaten streak to 12, and Gravelle has scored a point in each of those game. The Tommies, who are 9-0-3 since Dec. 1, moved into second place in the conference and secured an MIAC playoff berth.

Coach Jeff Boeser's team secured the program's 37th consecutive winning season in Friday's win.

Gravelle and Tanner Barnes scored second-period goals for the Purple, who never trailed.

The four St. Thomas hockey and basketball teams capped an 8-0 week and improved to 34-0-4 sinnce the holiday break. All four teams have double-digit win or unbeaten streaks. The four teams are a combined 48-1-6 in MIAC play with two weeks left in the regular season.
