MINNEAPOLIS - Men's soccer senior Justin Oliver scored two more goals, his 10th and 11th of the season, in a 2-0 win over Augssburg University in a non-conference contest on Tuesday night at Edor Nelson Field.
With the win, the Tommies improve to 10-1-0 on the year, while Augsburg falls to 6-5-0 overall.
Oliver got his first goal of the night just 10 and a half minutes into the contest. The play looked familiar, as Justin worked with his brother, Tyler on a give-and-go that led to Justin's goal from the 18.
The second came nearly six minutes into the second half. This time, the score came unasssisted after stealing a clearing attempt to give the Tommies a 2-0 lead, which is where it would stay for the remainder of the night.
For the game, St. Thomas finished with a 16-6 shot advantage, including a 6-0 advantage in shots on goal. The Tommies also collected four corner kick chances, doubling up the Auggies, who recorded just two.
Junior goalkeeper Aidan Hogan picked up his 10th win and fourth shutout of the year. His counterpart, Tommy Molski, suffered the loss and drops to 3-2-0 on the season.
St. Thomas will be back in action again on Saturday when it hosts Carleton for a 1:00 pm start.
