PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Fifth-ranked Tommie men's soccer picked up a 3-0 win over top regional foe UW-Platteville on Sunday afternoon at Pioneer Stadium.  St. Thomas scored once in the first half and twice more in the second to run its win streak to 11 games.

St. Thomas improves to 14-1-0 overall and finish the non-conference portion of its schedule 6-1-0 with the only loss coming to Capital University a month and a half ago.  UW-Platteville is now 10-3-1 on the year.

The Tommies opened the game with a pair of shots on goal before finding the back of the net in the 23rd minute.  Tyler Oliver scored his fourth goal of the year thanks to an assist from Alex Schnobrich.  The goal put UST on top 1-0 midway through the first, a lead it would keep heading to the intermission.

In the second half, Will Kidd got in the scoring act with his second goal of the year.  Kidd scored unassisted in the 54th minute to give the Tommies a 2-0 lead before Kevin Van Lieshout put the finishing touches on the win with his fourth goal of the season.  Justin Oliver assisted on the final goal of the game to stamp the score final at 3-0.

St. Thomas put eight of its 13 shots on goal, testing Pioneer goalkeeper Nate Miller.  UW-Platteville registered seven shots on goal, including three on net, all of which came in the second half.  The Tommies also held a 4-1 corner kick advantage.

In goal, Aidan Hogan continued his stellar junior campaign, tallying his sixth solo shutout of the year.  Sunday serves as his 17th career solo shutout and 20th overall.  Miller suffered the loss for Platteville in a five-save effort.

The Tommies will now have nearly a week off before returning to action on Saturday, when they host St. Olaf at 1:00 pm at South Field.
