Home-field opener for Men's Soccer in NCAAs

No. 5-ranked Tommie Men's Soccer has been awarded host duties to open the 2017 NCAA playoffs, Nov. 11-12.

The Tommies (19-1) start play Saturday at UST's South Field against UW-Superior (14-6-2), at 11 a.m. Loras (13-5-1) (Iowa) and Cal Lutheran (13-4-2) meet in the 1:30 p.m. game.

Saturday winners play Sunday at 1 p.m. 

The Tommies ran their season win streak to 16 with Saturday's 5-2 comeback win over Macalester in the conference playoff finals. UST has won 15 in a row at home, incuding six postseason wins in 2016 and 2017, and are 29-3 in their last 32 games.

The Tommies are 2-1 aganst teams in the 2017 NCAA Division III playoffs, all on the road -- a loss at Capital (Ohio) and a win over Ohio Wesleyan, plus a 3-0 win over UW-Platteville.

Superior hasn't played St. Thomas this season but is 3-5 against MIAC teams.
