Late score helps Men's Soccer tie Wartburg

No. 12-ranked St. Thomas Men's Soccer rallied late in regulation time to tie Wartburg 1-1 in Sunday's home non-conference contest at South Field.

It was the third consecutive overtime game for the Purple (1-1-2).

Wartburg (2-0-1) scored in the 51st minute for a 1-0 lead, but the Tommies' Halvor Houg answered with the tying goal in the 85th minute. Neither team scored in 20 minutes of sudden-death overtimes.

Houg has scored two of the Tommies' four goals.

St. Thomas travels to southern California for two games Sept. 13-15 against Claremont and Redlands.
