Trace Dobson scored the go-ahead goal in the 63rd minute and Wesley Sanders had six saves to lead visiting Gustavus (5-1 overall, 1-0 MIAC) past host St. Thomas (1-3-3, 0-1), 2-1, in MIAC play Wednesday at St. Thomas' South Field.

Cole Schwartz scored in the 10th minute and assisted on Dobson's second-half goal. Raphael Cattelin added two assists for Gustavus.

Jake Amey scored for the Tommies in the 15th minute -- his first goal of the season -- assisted by Jake Makela.

Gustavus won the MIAC regular-season crown last season, including a 1-1 tie with the Tommies in St. Paul.

St. Thomas has three one-goal losses (two in overtime) during a current 0-3-3 streak. The Toms travel to Augsburg for another good test Saturday evening.
