Men's Tennis gets 5-4 road win over Eagles

Tommie Men's Tennis got a good test from host Northwestern and a good test from Mother Nature Tuesday as it came home with a 5-4 victory in non-conference play in Roseville. The match was played on a windy, chilly late afternoon.

Garrett Malmquist secured the clinching fifth point with a 8-0, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles, one of four singles victories.

Sterling Sibley won at first doubles (with Tristan Fjelstad) and at second singles to aid the effort. Coach Ted Lauer's team used eight players in the victory.

St. Thomas (8-4) is scheduled to play Bethel next Saturday, although the poor weather likely will postpone or move that competition.
